Personality Portrait Event at Goosefeathers Children’s Apparel & Gifts

If you’ve been around our studio for a while now, you know we love simple, beautifully lit childhood portraiture.. This style of photography allows us to focus on personality, expressions and documenting your kids in photographs that do not feel overly trendy or busy.

We had the best time doing exactly that at our April personality portrait event in New Braunfels. We hosted clients at Goosefeathers Children’s Apparel and Gifts (formerly Raine Hills) capturing pure, honest, and playful childhood portraits.

Families came from New Braunfels, Alamo Heights and even as far as north Austin for this event. It was such an honor to document so many precious kids. Goosefeathers, a beautiful childhood boutique in Historic Gruene, was the perfect location for parents to shop and mingle while their littles were photographed.

After hosting portrait pop-ups at our studio for several years now, returning parents tell us on repeat that their kids ask if they get donut holes again this year. We joke that the mamas come for the portraits the kids come for the donuts, and we don’t mind it. We love that the kids are looking forward to the event, even if they are really just here for the sugar. :) .

Some kids are playful and full of movement, others quiet and observant, but all of them are completely themselves. Interacting with them, talking about Bluey or soccer, or the next best Paw Patrol episode brings us so much joy. Watching their faces light up as they talk about their favorite topics and share about what they love serves as such a reminder that they are each their own fully unique human.

And that’s what personality portraits are really about. Capturing them just how they are right now.

We’re so grateful to Audrey, owner of Goosefeathers, for creating such a thoughtful space.. It felt like such a natural fit—surrounded by beautiful products that celebrate childhood, while documenting it at the same time.
