3 Benefits of Booking an Indoor Photography Session | New Braunfels, TX Portrait Studio

It’s safe to say we are LOVING studio sessions at our downtown New Braunfels space. It’s just been in the last few months that we are really getting acquainted with this beautiful spot at the top of one of New Braunfels’ historic downtown buildings. Like getting to know a new friend, we’re finding out things we didn’t even realize we’d love about the studio.

Some unexpected benefits have also come with photographing in a studio versus on-location for portrait sessions. Here are some of our favorite reasons for booking indoors:

1. Significantly less stress for parents + fewer distractions for kids:

Perhaps the best thing about photographing in the contained studio space is the diminished stress level that comes with it. Once you arrive, we aren’t contending with crowds at the park or tubers on the river. All attention can be focused on documenting you and your people.

Kids are also less distracted in the quiet environment. They have the freedom to just be themselves. A lot of documenting children is conversational, and with less distractions, kids get to fill us in on all their faves! We talk about their favorite colors and animals, discuss the latest Bluey episode and rely on some good old fashioned bribery with organic gummy snacks and a giant roll of zoo animal stickers. Better yet, we’ve got building blocks ready when your littles need a break.

2. Timeless photographs:

Okay, okay, we will sound like a broken record on this one. But, we love timeless photographs.

Always have; always will.

We want you to look back in 30 years and still love the classic simplicity of your images. The studio is a clean backdrop for this type of work and the main reason we signed the lease on the space.

After we launched our school portrait program we had parents asking if we offered the same style of photography for families. The biggest issue we kept running into was not having a dedicated space for this work.

We kicked around all kinds of ideas on how to make it work. But, let’s be honest, schlepping our backdrop set up from client home to client home was not really an option. With 12 foot ceilings, white walls, and an entire wall of windows facing San Antonio Street, the studio is the perfect spot for doing seamless backdrop and indoor photography for our clients.

3. No more watching that weather radar:

Oh that Texas weather. It can change on a dime and wreck havoc on any outdoor session. The benefit of the studio is we can photograph any time of year come rain or shine!

After 15 years of dancing around the weather forecast, we are both so elated about that fact.

We know how time consuming it can be to try to coordinate your own schedule for family portraits. Pair that with coordinating with your photographer’s schedule and it can become quite the juggling act. The last thing you want is to have to do that act all over again because of inclement weather.

Now you don’t have to!

Of course, if on-location at a park is still your preference for your family portraits, we are happy to schedule an outdoor session, but we would absolutely love to host you at the studio for your next session.
